Welcome to the Whitewings Farm website. I am really pleased that you have chosen to stop by. To the left are the buttons to take you to our offerings: The Products that support the birds in Sanctuary at Whitewings, a few articles, special needs diets, recipes, one editorial, and Merlin’s Story; the story of how we began. Some are here by our own choice, some because there was no place else for them to go. At this writing there are 48 winged souls in our care. From the two budgies, Chup and Scooter, all the way to Galerita Galerita; the Greater Sulpher Crested Cockatoo, Augusta.

Over the years we’ve tried to constantly learn more about HOW to care for the wondrous winged beings with whom we have been charged. Diet (my personal vocation), caring for fearful or phobic birds, housing, toys, socialization, one on one interaction, fledging, flight: all the things that are so important to providing these miraculous creatures with a safe, healthy, and comfortable life. There is still so much to learn, so very much. But slowly as the days and years pass, we do learn.

Not much here is original. Over the years, I have had the great good fortune to meet some of the best in the avian community, and they have always been more than generous to answer questions and help me to constantly improve the lives of the feathers in my keeping. So, in the spirit in which I was given the information, and the ideas to which that information has often given birth: I now ‘pass it forward.’

Bright be your days, and the wind ever beneath your wings.

Gloria at Whitewings Farm.
